Buried in the Hyde housing estate (the locals will not like this!) the King Alfred is seen as a pub for locals. It has the benefit of an enclosed garden with a dozen or so pub benches as well as a temporarily covered area for those rainy days and sporting events. Young families enjoy the King Alfred as it has a playground to keep smaller family members happy.
Drivers need to take note, that not only does it require careful manoeuvring around the narrow roads to get to the King Alfred, when you do get there, parking spaces are permit only. Even during non-permit times spaces are as rare as a local not propping up the bar!
